Ten Rules For The Election

Bob’s ten rules for the election.

  1. Vote on election day (or before if you must).
  2. If you choose not to vote, I don’t want to hear a peep out of you.
  3. All election campaign signs must be removed from public view no later than 5:00 PM local time on Wednesday after the election.
  4. After the election, get on with your life. If your candidate won, fine. Raise a toast with your friends, then get over it. If your candidate lost, just get over it.
  5. Remember that you still live in the greatest nation in the world.
  6. Also remember it’s the people who make a nation great; people just like you. And the best thing you can do is to continue with your life, your work, and your worship.
  7. For goodness sake, accept the election results. The system is too big, too diverse, too complicated, and finally too well thought out for any cheating to have any appreciable impact on the outcome.
  8. Love your neighbor.
  9. Pray for those who were elected.
  10. Give thanks to God that you live here in the USA, where the Constitution has given us a government that takes into account both the best and the worst impulses of the human heart in the separation of powers. Our system ensures our personal freedom to speak, live, associate, and worship as we please. Cherish it.
