I enjoy writing this blog every week. It exercises my mind, strengthens my writing skill, and fulfills my life purpose to glorify God while enjoying the grace and blessings of being His redeemed child. These are the same motivations that led me to write my book “Aimless Life, Awesome God”. http://amzn.to/2aokmNV
The hard part of this is getting the word out so more people will read the book and the blog. I have tried using Facebook, but the environment was toxic and the paid ads produced few readers. Likewise, LinkedIn is supposed to be a forum for business promotion and making professional connections. This platform has also proved to be of little value, despite my meeting some interesting people. I dropped my LinkedIn connection yesterday. So WordPress is the only place I can be found on the internet.
That leaves you my readers and friends. No, I’m not trying to get you to buy my book (but thanks to those who have). What I need help with is getting more readers.
There are two ways you can help. If you enjoy what you read here, share a post with your friends, either here or on your favorite platform. Second, if you think your readers would enjoy it, invite me to do a guest post. Two of my good friends here on WordPress have already done so;
Joy Neal Kidney https://wordpress.com/read/feeds/67042442 and
Richard Muniz (William R. Ablan) https://wordpress.com/read/feeds/61993663.
If you’d rather just go on reading every Friday, that’s great. I appreciate you all; the “likes” and comments encourage me. Keep a look out for this Friday’s post. I’m sure I’ll think of something by then.
BTW: My friends call me “Bob”.
I commiserate with you, Bob. I, too, have found much of the social media to be more hype than results. However, it was through the social media that I discovered you and Joy Neal Kidney, and I’ve bought and read both your books. I’ve concluded that in the final analysis, it’s friends telling friends telling friends (much as Joy has done for me) that leads to my book sales. I try to do my part, but, in the end, it’s the Lord who must bring the increase! Best wishes on growing results. Keep writing!
