I “met” a new author online recently. His name is John Pasquet. He wrote a book titled “The Essence: A Guided Journey of Discovery Through the Bible”. He sent me a copy to review and I’m glad he did. Even though I have read through the Bible, cover to cover, many times in my life, this simple guide refreshed my appreciation for the greatest book ever written. Here’s how I reviewed it:
An Everyman’s Guide to the world’s most important book!
To read John Pasquet’s book is like having John seated across the kitchen table, enthusiastically leading you through his favorite book. The language is clear, the thoughts linear and connected, and the picture he paints is one beautiful story.
If you have never read the Bible, the author will take you on a guided tour through all the essentials. If, like me, you’ve read through the Bible many times from cover to cover, you will be refreshed, as I was, by this clear outline of all the most essential parts. Either way, you will be enlightened and thirsty for more.
As an Elder, a preaching layman, and a still-growing Christian, I heartily recommend The Essence.

Amen! I also liked that the verses he talked about are right in the book. And how conversational it is.
